(may be related to the Home group issue?) May be my NAS is posessed! Well, guess I just have to leave it on forever in order to let me connct to the net. NAS on = Internet connection ok with Wireless NAS off = internet connection ok with Wireless I scratched my head to almost bold (no offend) on why the on/off of my NAS could affect wired internet connection. NAS off = No Internet connection with Lan. NAS on = Internet connection ok with Lan. I tested several times but result is the same. Yet, If I turn them into wireless connection, they all can access the net withour problem even the NAS is off. Bad news or "strange" news are all my PCs (1 desktop & 2 notebooks) will not be able to access the internet if I turn off the NAS (wire connected through router). Particularly the assemble/dis-assemble of HDDs to the NAS, copy/transfer datas back & forth & check the HDDs for failure, etc. the hard way!!! What I did was I reset the NAS to its default stage & did everything from the very first beginning. Good news are I got them formatted finally.
Thanks eddies, Thanks for the suggestion. What the heck is wrong? Any thoughts & suggestions will ber appreciated. Now what? I have 4TB of "Usable & not usable" space on my desk. I checked through the HDD compatible list & my drives are 100% compatible with no special notes like those on "WD" drives. So the HDDs are clearly not the cause of the problem. I found them no problem at all in my PCs. I tried Format, read/write & even Raid 0/1 set up. Yet, both of the HDD work fine when I connect them to my desktop PC. boths of the disks still show "uninitialized" Failure HDD is my immediate conclusion. it shows formatting for around 20s then quit. 3, Status is "uninitialized" in volume configuration section. The symptom is following, 1, Log in to TS-210 Web Ui 2, Browse to "Disk Management" section & found that it sees both of the HDD with smart status "good". Strange thing is they can recognize in the Web Ui of my TS-210, but cannot format by either Ext3 or Ext4. I bought two Seagate 2TB (5900rpm version) HDD recently to replace the current HDDs (2 x 1TB Seagate HDD) in my TS-210. Hello folks, Thanks in advance & I hope I can find the answer of my problem here.
